Week 6: Aligned in Direction

Devotional

Do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so?”

 — Amos 3:13 (NIV)

Marriage is not simply about love; it is about direction. Two people can love each other deeply and still feel disconnected if they are unsure where they are headed together.

Shared purpose does not require identical callings or gifts. It requires agreement on values, priorities, and the direction God is leading. When couples regularly realign, unity strengthens—even during seasons of uncertainty.

God invites couples to walk together intentionally, trusting Him to guide the path.

Week 5: Clothed In Grace

“Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”

Colossians 3:13 (NIV)

Marriage brings two imperfect people into close, daily proximity. Over time, small wounds can accumulate—unspoken disappointments, unmet expectations, careless words. Scripture does not pretend this won’t happen. Instead, it gives a clear response: bear with one another.

Forgiveness in marriage is not denial of hurt. It is a deliberate decision to release resentment rather than rehearse it. When grace is withheld, distance grows. When grace is extended, love remains soft.

God’s forgiveness toward us is not cautious or conditional. It is generous and restoring. When we forgive as He forgives, we create space for healing rather than keeping score.

This week invites you to reflect inwardly before addressing anything outward.
