“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” This verse found in 1 Timothy 4:12 is encouragement for children to live their lives for Jesus.
If you didn’t get a chance to attend the Angels Aware musical put on by the children at FPC’s and led by Sis. Coffey, you missed out on witnessing FPC’s youth do just that! Not only was the weekend a time to encourage and support the hard work and dedication of children in ministry, but it brought families together and shared a fun spin-off to sharing the good news.
Instead of playing with friends, gaming, listening to music; these young people sacrificed their time to learn songs and script and allowed God to use them. And they did an AMAZING job!
As we see in the many stories in the Bible, God calls people when they are just children for His purpose and plan. Like the story of David, a young shepherd boy who fearlessly defeated Goliath with immense faith and courage (1 Samuel 17). Or the boy with a small lunch of fish and bread who gave his whole lunch to Jesus as an offering which Jesus then turned into a miracle by feeding thousands (John 6).
Although the youth involved in this production may not be offering their meal to Jesus or fighting a giant, they sacrificed their time (and overcame their nerves) for a whole weekend to share about Jesus.
If you weren't able to attend the musical in person or online, make sure to reach out and encourage them for dedicating their time to the work of Jesus.
